I know, I know

I didnt upload the tutorial yet! I have been so busy the last couple days. Seems our pool decided it just didnt want to be clear anymore or respond to chemicals =( and yesterday I went scrappy shopping. Not much that I needed really some grundge paper and some clearance items. I have to make some fabric flowers today for a swap I am doing. I went to Joanns yesterday and got a bunch of fabric remnants for cheap. I was SO excited! I will post pictures of the flowers I make with them! I hope you all are having great days and have happy scrapping!

Great weekend!

How many of you hit the AC Moore Moonlight Madness sale? I did not get a chance to go but I'm sure there were some great deals! I think I need to focus on using up my stash =). I was coming up with ideas on what to do with some of my stuff. Here is a card I made for a friends daughter, she had her first day at pre school!

I do not know why the picture wont upload the right way but thats the best I could get it. SORRY!
I used glimmer mist on the background paper. I love the effect I got. The saying on the inside is a rub on it says "Little girls like butterflies need no excuse". I made the butterfly out of tissue paper. Also glimmered the flowers!

I am so excited about the paper swap I am hosting over at scrapbook.com What kind of swaps do you like to do? I am looking forward to holding many more!

I am working on a tutorial for my fabric flowers. I think they are beautiful.

So be watching for it! Sometimes today or first thing tomorrow morning!

Stickles =)

Wade and I were up LATE last night watching movies. I love evenings like that. Today was his day off so we headed to Wilmington and I hit AC Moore for a couple things. I got the Bella Bella by Carina Gardner paper stack. Great pack! I also scored some acrylic paint for 20 cents each. I got some projects to do with the little one I babysit and some stickles.

About stickles- Not all glitter glue is created equal! I decided one day that I wanted to see what all the hype was about with glitter glue, so off to the store I go. I bought 8 different colors of Michael's brand glitter glue. I came home from the store so excited and decided to use it on a layout. I HATED IT! So from there on out I wouldn't touch it. Well on scrapbook.com I won a challenge on National SB day and received 2 or 3 free bottles of stickles and I let them sit there for a month and a half. Finally used them and they are AMAZING!!!! I LOVE STICKLES! Definitely try Diamond first cause you can use that on anything! I went out and bought every color my AC Moore sells. So please if you have not tried them TRY THEM!!! I made this butterfly with them (which I plan on doing a tutorial for at some point)

Isn't it pretty? I love making them! Hope you'll go try some stickles!

Paper Roses

Every time I say that I think of the song "Paper Roses" ha ha. Well let me start by saying this is my first tutorial EVER! Also, since I started making these I have not stopped. I make them watching TV, I make them when I am waiting for my laundry to get done, and of course when I am scrapbooking.
Okay so here it goes!

For this you will need:
1. A piece of card stock
2. A Pencil
3. A pair of scissors
4. Something round (I use the end of a paintbrush)
5. Needle nose pliers (optional)
6. Some type of glue
7. A spray bottle of water.

1.) Now you are going to start by cutting out a circle of your card stock. If it is easier for you draw a template like the one shown- Do it very lightly in pencil! I only did it dark because the camera did not see the lines. That's how I learned however now I just start out with a circle and cut into it with no lines. (saves on erasing.) You want the cuts to go from skinny to wider with leaving the end on it. This will be the base of the flower. After you cut it will look like one of those snakes kids make. DO NOT BE PERFECT WITH THIS! Cut "wavy" to make pretty petals or use decorated scissors. If you don't it still comes out pretty just wont look like mine =)

2.) Once you have your "snake" cut you roll the outside edges around your round object.

3.)Then with the needle nose pliers grab the smallest end of your "snake" and roll it around the pliers to make the center of your rose. You'll notice that this is rolled up tightly. Also make sure you re rolling so that the petals are folded out and not into it self. Ive also done that a couple times!

4.) Once you have your center you can just begin rolling the rose. Be sure to keep the bottom pretty together so when you glue it down it all glues to the base. Hold the bottom and allow the rose petals to flower out. As you are rolling you can work with the petals to continue to roll.

5.) Continue rolling until you get to your base. Then you put glue on the base and attach the flower press in the middle of the rose to make sure your center is glued to the base. Trim off excess base.

6.) Spray the flower with water only once or twice to dampen the flower. Then using your pliers or fingers form the petals any way you want them! Allow that to dry. I inked mine with distress ink.

Youre all done!!! PLease please please leave me comments! I will be starting to post daily and doing tutorials weekly if not more often! Have a great night!
